SKIDATA’s mother company, the Kudelski Group, is based in Chesaux, Switzerland, and Phoenix, Arizona, US. The company is a global leader in digital security and convergent media solutions for the delivery of digital and interactive content. The technologies are used in a wide range of services and applications requiring access control and rights management.

For you as our customer, our cooperation with the cyber security division of Kudelski brings a lot of benefits. Data security becomes more and more important for both operators and customers, as some threats are global, and many industries are forced to defend against specialized threat actors who focus all their energies on a specific vertical.

What our clients say

Alejandro von Teuber

What I most like about SKIDATA is the innovation, the design which is definitely important because it is what our clients see, and then the software because it's just what we operators need.

Alejandro von Teuber

Their solutions provide so much functionality such as letting us trace all of our operations, improving the safety of our operations and providing a pleasant customer experience for our visitors.

Ben Ziff

SKIDATA was by far the company who was going to help us to achieve what we wanted to for our business going forward.

Ben Ziff

It's probably like buying a Rolls Royce, if I was comparing it with a car. It is definitely one of the best manufacturers out there in the market. And I believe, this is probably because they listen to their clients.

Ben Ziff

We spend some time going through different suppliers. We saw about six or seven suppliers. Quite quickly, we narrowed it down to who was the market leader.

Setting Trends

Strongly grounded in the present, we are already thinking about the day after tomorrow. Together we conceive new ideas and develop them into sophisticated products. Utilizing broad market understanding, foresight and innovative thinking, we set trends that set new benchmarks in access management. As a result, our customers and partners are always a step ahead...

Our History

The course for SKIDATA's success story was set in 1977.

Günther Walcher, originally active in the sale of Polaroid cameras, had the brilliant idea for a new application of Polaroid images in 1977. By incorporating skiers' photos into ski tickets, he triggered a revolution in ski lift access. The first printed ski ticket and the first electronic cash register was launched – a milestone in the history of mountain sports regions. SKIDATA was born.

In 1985, SKIDATA entered the parking business with its comprehensive parking solutions. By 1986, SKIDATA's market share for fully automated access management in ski resorts had grown to more than 80 percent.

Beginning in 1991, SKIDATA provided controlled mass access for people with its systems and expanded its portfolio to include stadia, arenas and attraction parks.

Collaborations with iconic brands such as Swatch, Apple, Google or Mastercard still highlight our claim to always work as the best with the best – and in the best interest of our customers.

What followed until today is thinking outside the box, empowering our customers to always be one step ahead.
