Being an HR trainee at SKIDATA - like Cupid with fewer arrows

Tassiane  is currently taking a one-year traineeship in HR talent acquisition at SKIDATA - and felt right at home from the very first day. She thrives on the daily challenges and enjoys working with her supportive team.

It was while taking a degree in psychology in Brazil that Tassiane discovered her passion for human resources. After graduating, she began a career as a tech recruiter for a leading financial software company in Latin America. Moving to Austria about three years ago, in June 2024 she saw a job posting on LinkedIn for an HR trainee position at SKIDATA. “SKIDATA is one of the biggest companies in Salzburg. Once you notice the brand, you start seeing SKIDATA everywhere,” says Tassiane. The team made the 29-year-old feel welcome right away, confirming she’d made the right choice. “Choosing SKIDATA was the right decision – I learn something new every day and continuously develop.”

Trust from day one

Every morning, Tassiane starts her day by reviewing her schedule, followed by her initial meetings. These daily interactions with the Talent Acquisition team help structure her day and address any questions. Right from the start, she took on responsibilities and supported her colleagues with HR tasks. Tassiane especially values the opportunity to gain insights into various areas of work and to learn from experienced team members.

With her background as a tech recruiter in Brazil, Tassiane excels at filling technical positions. She’s also closely involved in the intern hiring process. “Working in talent acquisition truly makes me happy. There’s nothing like the thrill of matching the right person to the right role. It’s like being a professional Cupid, only with fewer arrows and more interviews!” she laughs. Besides talent acquisition, Tassiane also contributes to employer branding and helps create social media content.
Tassiane finds both the fulfilling nature of her tasks and her supportive colleagues highly motivating. On her very first day, after lunch with her team, Tassiane realized that SKIDATA fosters a very appreciative work environment: “Everyone was very open and friendly. I felt warmly welcomed, and the team is very helpful – they all treat each other as equals,” she enthuses.

Internationality and work-life balance?

Tassiane is also passionate about the company’s internationality. “It’s great to work with people from many different cultures.” She finds recruiting individuals from around the world particularly enriching. The working language at SKIDATA is English, which suits her perfectly. “Everyone here speaks English,” she says. As a trainee, she is also learning German and plans to improve her proficiency through an intensive course.

Maintaining a good work–life balance is important to Tassiane. Whether exploring snowy landscapes or capturing special moments with her camera, she draws a lot of energy from her hobbies and Salzburg’s stunning surroundings. She’s an avid football fan and skateboarder, and especially enjoys the nature in the mountains, particularly the snow, which fascinates her as someone from Brazil.

Goals for her trainee year

Tassiane has clear goals for her trainee year at SKIDATA. She aims to grow both personally and professionally and to support her team as effectively as possible by thoroughly learning the company’s working methods and providing applicants with a positive recruitment experience. She views her time at SKIDATA as a unique opportunity to expand her skills and gain new perspectives.
